Dhuleti Festival 2017

Information on the Powder colour bought from GCS on the day: Safety The powder is made from 99% corn starch and only 1% natural colours are used. It is skin friendly and bio degradable so no environmental issues to be concerned about. Tear open the sachet and you’re ready to powder. Although the powders are safe and non-toxic we do not recommend throwing directly in to eyes or mouth. Bleached or non-natural hair may hold the colour so may be best to pop some head gear on. A pair of cool funk shades will help keep most of the dust out your eyes and a dust mask is recommended. Remember have fun and play safe. ‘The powder is in your hands…. Whoosh!!’ Clothing & Body: Jump up and down, shake yourself, pat your clothes to remove most of the powder. You could even hoover yourself if you carry one round with you! Don’t wear your best designer clothes when intending to use these powders as they may discolour lighter items of clothing. Bleached or damaged hair could absorb some colour. Grass and Concrete: A light covering will wash away with the next rain shower but if there are heavier deposits then a hose and stiff brush will help to disperse the remains. Ingredients: The contents are 99% corn starch and the remainder is made of colorants. The powders are tested and confirmed as free from heavy metals. Many other Holi Powders will not match this parameter. The powders are tested and approved in the UK by SGS. The test reports show the ingredients meet the EU cosmetic regulation. User Instructions: Not for use by children under 3 years of age. Not for use by children who are under 14 and not in company of an adult! Easy to open sachet. Just tear open. Avoid direct contact with the eyes. If irritation occurs flush with plenty of water. Do not eat! Skin friendly. Plant friendly. Environmentally friendly. Powder could will leave stains on lighter clothing. Wear items you don’t have to worry about. Can be mixed with water. Use outside or in well ventilated areas. Not for use indoors. Have fun! Clothing: A bit of common sense required here, do not wear your Sunday best! Although generally the powders wash out there is a high risk of them tinting lighter items of clothing. The risk will increase if your clothing gets wet prior, during or after powder application. Plain white t shirts are ideal as you can pick them up cheap enough plus they show off the paint powder. BY USING THESE POWDERS, YOU ARE FULLY AWARE OF THE ABOVE AND THEY ARE USED AT YOUR OWN RISK. PARTYGLOW LTD WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE CAUSED BY THESE POWDERS. WE ARE HAPPY TO SEND SAFETY CERTIFICATES IF REQUIRED

Volunteering at Royal Sussex County Hospital

Mariusz Przybytek from Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals is looking for Volunteers at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. They would be really keen to come and talk briefly to GCS Members about volunteering opportunities at the hospital, and to hear about their experiences. Volunteers play a hugely important role in the life of our hospitals and our patients. As well as helping in a variety of support roles, volunteers also benefit themselves from feeling they’ve made a difference, given something back, are part of a team – and enjoy the fun and variety of meeting new people and having new experiences. If you are interested in Volunteering then please contact us by email contact@gcs-brighton.org.uk so we can gauge the interest.
