October 5th to 13th 2013 inclusive that is nine days continuous from our usual start time of 8pm. This is our most celebratory time of year and it would be nice to see as many old and new faces as possible so please spread the word and bring along your friends. Navratri , October 5-13th (18th Sharad Purnima) . The New Year Celebration is set for Saturday November 23rd start time of 7.30pm until late. Extraordinary General Meeting Announced – 22nd September 2013

Dear Members, At the last Annual General Meeting (AGM) it was proposed and agreed that the new committee should hold an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to discussed the following points: Is the Society in a position to purchase a building in the near or distant future for the members needs and use with the current restricted fund held in the Society’s account. If NOT, will the Society be able to increase this fund to buy a building for the members needs and use IF (2) is not possible then: (a) All of the restricted fund should be transferred to the General Fund to be spent at the discretion of the     Trustees in the furtherance of some particular aspect of the objects of the Charity. Or (b) A portion of the restricted fund should be transferred to the General Fund to be spent at the discretion of the Trustees in the furtherance of some particular aspect of the objects of the Charity. If the members agree to transfer part of the restricted funds, the remainder will be retained as a restricted fund for future Trustees to increase the fund in order to achieve the member’s original aspiration to purchase a property that will satisfy their needs and use. Brighton Kite Festival this weekend at Stanmer Park

Brighton Kite Festival is a free public event not to be missed and brings some interesting shapes, sizes and colour to Stanmer Park that would not normally be seen there. It is one, if not the longest, running kite festivals in the UK and is fast approaching its 35th consecutive event on the 13th & 14th July 2013 in Stanmer Park, Brighton. Race for Life 30th June @ Stanmer Park

This Sunday 30th June is Cancer Research UK’s annual race for life event. The event is the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK. We have Anita and her daughter Reianna Agnihotri taking part and raising money for this worthwhile cause. If you are interested in sponsoring them, then you can donate via there Just Giving page.

The Chattri Memorial Service – Sunday 9th June 2013

During the First World War (1914-18) over one and a half million Indian army soldiers saw active service alongside British troops. Twelve thousand Indian soldiers who were wounded on the Western Front were hospitalised at sites around Brighton. These included York Place School, the Dome, the Corn Exchange and the Royal Pavilion.
