Funeral of Visrambhai Dalsania

The Dalsania family are holding Shanti path (prayers) for Visrambhai Dalsania at South Portslade Community Centre, Church Rd., Portslade, BN41 1LB on Thursday 7th July from 8pm-9pm (parking is available in the health centre next door to the community centre). The funeral of Visrambhai Dalsania will be held at 11am, Saturday 9th July at Woodvale Crematorium, Lewes Rd., Brighton, BN2 3QB following the funeral there will be chaas at St. Richards Church Hall, Beal Crescent, Hollingdean, Brighton, BN1 7BU. Cricket Day – 26th June 2016

We have had a good uptake on the GCS Brighton organised cricket day on the 26th June. In previous years we have had a loosely run match with young and old alongside some food and games. This year we already have 26 names on this list of players and so we are probably going to be joined by Indian Colours group for a 3 way mini tournament. We have given the first two teams names and badges, to get the excitement and rivalry started. The GCS Lions are made up of mostly GCS Brighton members while I will be captaining the Pirates who are a mixture of the younger generation. If you have not contacted us to confirm that you would like to play then please email us your request to contact@gcs-brighton.org.uk with your name, mobile and email address. Yoga Class for the Elderly members

We are pleased to announce that GCS have organised Yoga Class which started on Wed 18th for elderly member’s activity, with support from Sussex police grant towards the Hindu community. This was given to GCS to organise activities for the elderly. We have organised six Yoga sessions, one every Wednesday for next 5 weeks. It is FREE for all. Every one is welcome to join.   Date : Every Wednesday for 6 Sessions starting 18th May 2016 Venue : Silver Birches, Rookery Close, Preston Rd, BN1 6DQ, Opposite Preston Park. Time : 1 – 2 pm followed by lunch

GCS TALENT EVENING 6.12.15. CANCELLED /POSTPONED Dear Friends Please note that our Talent Evening on 6th December 2015 has been cancelled and postponed to February-March 2016. Many of our GCS members and members of our community are away during December. Also the Hove Park School Hall is being renovated. We shall circulate new date and venue for Talent Evening shortly. Your committee is working very hard to bring you the best experience so far of our Annual Diwali Dinner and Dance. A few important announcements for your co-operation: 1. Please bring your tickets and membership cards with you. Management reserves the right to refuse entry. There will be NO MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION OR TICKET SALE AT THE DIWALI EVENT ON THE DAY. 2. NO ALCOHOLIC DRINKS FROM OUTSIDE ALLOWED – the Hotel staff will confiscate your drink if you do. Please purchase your alcohol or soft drinks from the Cash Bar provided which will be in the Hall. 3. Entrance through main doors Kings Road – wheelchairs/disabled access guests please tell reception and they will open the side entrance for you. 4. Car parking: we have negotiated a special price £5 per car for the night- 150 spaces available – first come first serve. There are other local carparks and free road parking after 8.00pm along the area. 5. Seating arrangement: Tables with 12 chairs – you may reserve a table if you have a group of 10-12 people. Otherwise you may have to adjust our seating arrangements please.
